Here’s my experience. 
Over fifty years ago Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures healed my grandmother and my mother of chronic ailments. Next I read it and was healed of migraine headaches and multiple warts on my fingers. I’ve been reading this book ever since. It’s given me a system of spiritual healing I can rely on. It’s shown me how to be well and stay well, given me peace of mind, and helped me lead an active, useful life. It can do the same for everyone. – Why is it called Christian Science?
Christian Science is the title that Mary Baker Eddy gave to the spiritual system of prayer-based healing she discovered. She chose “Christian” because it’s based on the teachings and healing works of Christ Jesus, and “Science” because the laws of God, when systematically applied to any situation, bring about practical results.
Christian Science is not Scientology, which was founded by L. Ron Hubbard.
– Is Christian Science a spiritual system of prayer-based health care, and a religion?
Yes. It’s a system of spiritually-based health care that is studied and practiced by people of all walks of life. And it’s a Christian religion in the sense that there is a church—the Church of Christ, Scientist—that supports the practice of Christian Science healing throughout the world.

Mary Baker Eddy (1821–1910) was an influential author, teacher, and religious leader, noted for her groundbreaking ideas about spirituality and health, which she named Christian Science.
